My Beloved by wolfmoonie My Beloved by wolfmoonie
Collaboration piece between me and :iconailah:

Ailah made the sketch, I inked the wolves and coloured them. Ailah begun on the background and I finished it.

Characters
WolfMoon Đ Cecilia Engdahl
Storm Đ Andreas Engdahl

Prisma Coloured Pencils

EDIT 2011:
I have got many comments about the leg position. What's hidden behind the tails are:
- the female's legs are lifted and in the air
- The male's legs are bent and it's his paws you see underneath the tails.

I AM working on a second version which will show more of the leg position, it have been in progress for the past 3 years :P (Yes I am slow and lazy)

This is cool! And what is wrong with a "werewolf couple"? Wolves are one of the few monogamous mammals; humans could learn a thing or two from them. Some people out there need to lighten up and enjoy life.

The colours here are simply breathtaking and the scenery adds to the feeling of the peice. I adore the males facial expression also, beautiful eyes.

However, I agree that the legs of both wolves are contorted beyond what a leg like that could handle, and furthermore the leg of the male at the top is far more expressive than the realistic body and looks undercoloured and does not fit in with how the body has been composed.

Are these meant to be dogs, or people dogs? =|

because the (Im assuming) female dog wolf... thing. on the bottom has horrible contorsionisim if its a normal dog.

If you look at This diagram you'll see that the angle those dog wolf thing's legs bend at would cause the knees to snap. Which would hurt.

Also the same for the upper wolf's (Again, assuming male) arms. They appear to be human. Are they werewolves, or wolves, or humans that have undergone some kind of weird perverted surgery =|

Also, why is the man-wolf-dog-thing wearing a ring?

Unfortunatley, not only am I making this comment to find out about information, I actually dont care about what you enjoy doing or drawing in your spare time, so any flames along that direction will simply be filed under "T" for trash. Or possibly "B" for bullshit.

If you wish to reply with reasons, please feel free, I would love to discuss this, if you want to flame me though, I will have to destroy your every reasoning with logic =)

Umm, what do you mean? You asked what they are, and I gave you the word anthropomorphic. Anthropomorphic = human like. They are anthro wolves. What is it that you donīt understand?

No...

"Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human characteristics and qualities to non-human beings, objects, natural, or supernatural phenomena"

Whereas this isn't projecting human onto non-human, or non-human onto human. It doesnt have any discernable shape from where it takes form. It should have some resemblance as to having a base. This doesn't.

 You'd think from all the things you've faved you'd know that. Or do you just like making yourself look like you know nothing?

"You'd think from all the things you've faved you'd know that. Or do you just like making yourself look like you know nothing?"

I know very well what anthropomorphic means. It comes from the greek words anthrō;pos (human) and morphē (shape). Itīs what you said above or, in more simple words, human like. What I said.

"Whereas this isn't projecting human onto non-human, or non-human onto human."

Excuse me, but what the heck are you talking about? O_o The characters in this pic are wolves (non-human) with human attributes (the arms, for example). They are anthropomorphic animals. Werewolves. I find that very obvious. Again, what is it that you donīt understand?

Its "Characteristicts" not its physical. The wolf has human legs, thats not a characteristic, Its a physical entity.

Examples being: clothes, standing, smoking, talking, NOT physical entities being binded.

If you look at wikipedia, which I know you have to get the word anthropos spelt in the way you had, you'll see correct examples, which this isn't. I asked for what these are, I still don't have an answer, All i've got is pathetic flames off "weird and moody girls"

If you really want to find information about what this is, you would browse the artists gallery and find out more about her characters and style, but since you obviously don't want to know the facts, but rather goes with insulting her, I'm pretty sure this artist will treat your comment with "simply be filed under "T" for trash. Or possibly "B" for bullshit."

They're not dogs. Clearly. They're not perverted werewolves. They're werewolves.

Also If your going to ask a question about what they are , why not ask the question "What are these, Im curious? Because I cant really tell" and not go into a long detailed bull crap job of trying to show off that your more "intellegent" then anyone here and more so, being rather disrespectful to the Artist because it is, after all, her and ailahs piece and their style. If you dont want people to "flame" you , then try improving your critique commenting skills and not coming off as you did. Cheers.

If they're werewolves, then why are they cuddling? Do you even understand what a werewolf IS?

Werewolves hunt in packs, yet dont share complex relationships as their minds are in two essential parts, or something along those lines, they can't share emotional relationships though, HENCE why I asked. I really wish people would learn their legends correctly.

Cheers for attempting to answer my questions, but no-ones answered about the legs yet, Am I right about them?

1.ok, man, seriously why are you like this ? as long as i have read about werewolves they are living beings that are more human than wolves, they just live to kill humans to extend his life gauge and are cursed by some sort of of god (as in the case of lycaon [link] ) if you are would like to talk about movies then ITS STILL WORSE, because they are really human like and have a damn pentagram in his hand that tells you have to die...
BUT WE SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT CARE ABOUT THOSE LEYEND YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MAN, they are talking ( or in this case drawing) about what form they prefer for perfect werewolves, AND THAT INCLUDES EMOTIONS, AND IF THEY CAN GET MARRIED OR NOT, we dont give a damn about that.
2.the mistake about the legs, its ok, its a mistake, it would snap and would be very painful, but man, THIS ARE MISTAKES ! mistakes that EVERYONE ON THIS PLANES MAKES! like making eyes to close or just dont giving the correct proportions to a body, as i told you , this are mistakes.
finally seriously man, the constructive comment for HELPING people to improve the art its ok, because everyone is learning here, BUT your comment about

" I actually dont care about what you enjoy doing or drawing in your spare time, so any flames along that direction will simply be filed under "T" for trash. Or possibly "B" for bullshit. "

its WAY TO OUT OF IT! this part over there shows that you are just asking for discussion and to make the "troll" about anything you can,
i really feel bad because you just trashed hours that a person spend doing something they love to just because you saw mistakes in it...

Everyone precieves things differently. That is your view. Which I respect. I've got my own view on them as well as others. There is no RIGHT or WRONG in what a "werewolf" is. how its exact characterisitcs are etc. Its just how the artists see's them through their eyes :)

As for the legs. You'r saying they look abit.. taught?

You do understand that this is just a drawing, right? Itīs a drawing of the artist, WolfMoonie, with her husband. As werewolves. This is meant to be a drawing of *them*, sharing a romantic moment. Not just a drawing of two random werewolves. Itīs a drawing of them.

Btw, werewolves donīt have to be all snarly and stuff, and they donīt hunt all the time. WolfMoonie certantly isnīt the first one to draw serene werewolves. Lots of "big names" who draw werewolves have drawn them together in romantic ways.

Werewolves donīt exist. People can interpret them in their own ways. You apparantly interpret them as hunters that canīt share emotional relationchips. Some people probably agrees with you. Others donīt.

Btw, why are you so het-up about this drawing? O_o Youīre being very rude, I think. Iīve tried to answere your questions, Iīve discussed this with you, like you said in your first comment that you wanted to do. I havenīt said anything mean to you. But you accuse me for flaming you, call me a hypocrit and roll your eyes at me. What have I done to make you so angry at me?

Listen, I know my legends roughly, thats why I ruled werewolves out. I gave her the benifit of the doubt, assumed she was smarter than most. Most people dont like my blunt sarcastic way of talking when its directed at them, but laugh when its at others.

So yes, I was blunt, but I didn't attack her, I just voiced my opinion in my way. Yes, this is "just a drawing" but thats a change from what you said earlier. Regardless, Im fed up of arguing when i've still not got my answer. I've been attacked because I was blunt, but no-ones answered what i've said, and the artist hasn't even replied.

Im not angry or het-up at all, Just trying to get a straight answer and returning the tone i'm being given. I think i've been perfectly within boundaries of what i feel is just on deviantART.

I know my legends and teminology better than most people, because I read a lot, I treated her on the level that she knew what she was talking about. I guess that was wrong of me, i'll just assume she's an idiot who can't read between the lines from now on?

Regardless of anything, I've got no answer, and i'm rather bored, 'cause i've proved my point, you've started to go off at extreme tangents to my point that I really can't be bothered discussing, I.E: Existance of werewolves, perception of them from the written legends, blah blah yakkety yak.

Im angry that no-ones been straight with me, and evenmoreso that the artist hasn't taken the time to respond to anyone, yet has had the time to submit more.
